and corundum with very low impurity content. They offer
great strength at high temperatures and excellent resistance
to abrasion, mechanical wear, slag corrosion, metal penetration
and attacks of various fluxes.

Blast Furnace Carbon Block are large
extruded, anthracite coal based carbon blocks for blast
furnace hearth bottoms, tuyere blocks, and submerged arc
furnace sidewall blocks. Features good thermal conductivity,
low thermal expansion and good volume stability.

TORPEDO
LADLE CAR
Hot metal is conveyed into torpedo ladles
which are positioned underneath the casthouse, waiting
to be transported to the steelmaking plant. The torpedo
ladle commonly has a cylindrical shape with conical ends
and are filled or emptied through an oval shaped opening
in the top of the torpedo ladle. The torpedo ladle cars
are designed for the least amount of heat loss.
